Making the most out of your LinkedIn profile is important. The popular social media platform offers multiple helpful features, one of which is the audible name pronunciation tool. This is Botsplash.TV and we’ll be looking at the steps it takes to set this feature up on your LinkedIn profile page.
Hi I’m Willem Osuch. With a name like Willem, I often get people mispronouncing my name as William. Even on emails or LinkedIn posts, people will still type ‘William’. Mispronunciations are commonplace, but there are ways to show people how to pronounce one’s name correctly.
On your mobile LinkedIn app, click on the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. Then click “View Profile” and afterwards click the pencil icon “Edit” in your introduction section on top of your profile page. A pop-up window will appear where you can put in your information and after the first, last, and additional name fields is the name pronunciation feature. Here you’ll see a “+Add name pronunciation” that when clicked will activate your phone’s microphone. Now you simply “hold to record” and have a ten second audio window to record the proper way your name is pronounced.
So, try out the feature and let me know in the comments how it works out for you. I’m Willem Osuch and this has been Botsplash.TV.
